You Don’t Need More Motivation. You Need More Capacity.

Inside Nat's Notebook - Real Reflections for Real Change

By this point in the year, many women think the problem is motivation.

They tell me they have lost their spark.
That they cannot seem to get going.
That they should feel energised by now, but instead feel flat, heavy and behind.

So they look for ways to push.
A new plan.
A new routine.
Something to kickstart themselves back into action.

But here is the truth I see again and again.

You do not need more motivation.
You need more capacity.

When Life Starts Feeling Like Too Much

Capacity is the invisible piece no one talks about.

It is your inner space, where you meet life without bracing.
The room inside you to feel, respond, decide, and rest without everything feeling effortful.

When capacity is low, even small things feel big.
Emails feel heavy.
Decisions feel draining.
People feel like demands, even when you love them.

Nothing is wrong with you when this happens.
Your system is simply full.

And no amount of motivation fixes a full nervous system.

Why Self-Love Is Not About Doing More

We have been sold a version of self-love that looks suspiciously like self-improvement.

Try harder.
Be better.
Optimise yourself into calm.

But real self-love does the opposite.

It creates space.
It reduces pressure.
It allows the system to breathe again.

When capacity increases, motivation returns naturally.
Not forced.
Not whipped up.

It emerges because there is room for it.

The Mistake So Many Women Make

Most women respond to low capacity by demanding more from themselves.

They tell themselves to be disciplined.
To stop being dramatic.
To just get on with it.

And for a while, that works.
Until it doesn’t.

Because pushing into an already full system does not create growth.
It creates collapse.

Self-love is recognising when the answer is not more effort, but more space.

What Increasing Capacity Actually Looks Like

It does not mean doing nothing.
It means doing less with more presence.

It looks like:
🧡 Slowing your pace without guilt
🧡 Letting some things be unfinished
🧡 Noticing when you are rushing for no real reason
🧡 Choosing rest before exhaustion forces it

These are not indulgences.
They are how your system resets its ability to meet life.

And this is why capacity is the foundation of sustainable change.

Why I Am Naming This Now

This week matters.

Because when you approach growth from a place of capacity rather than depletion, everything changes.

This is the work at the heart of Soul Sessions.

Not pushing.
Not fixing.
Not transforming yourself into someone else.

But learning how to expand your inner space through rhythm, presence, and shared experience.

Soul Sessions doors are now open. It is a membership for women who want to feel better, sleep more deeply, and live from a place of joy and full capacity without abandoning themselves in the process.

Not another thing to keep up with.
A place to come home to.

Doors are open from 14 February and close on 28 February.

If this speaks to you, trust that and know there is a place for you here.

This week, notice where life feels like too much.

Not what you think you should be able to handle.
What actually feels heavy right now?

Then ask yourself
What would create a little more space here?

Not a big overhaul.
Not a new plan.

Just one small choice that reduces pressure rather than adding to it.

That is self-love in action. And Soul Sessions, well, that is where we learn and implement this stuff every week, see you there!
