This Week’s Post Is a Bit Different… And That’s Entirely the Point


You see, sometimes it’s good to switch things up and surprise the brain a little.


So…Let’s invite your nervous system to take a deep exhale. Let’s shake off the “seriousness” of self-development, just for a moment (or let’s be honest… for the whole day because you can).


As the great Oscar Wilde once said: 


“Life is far too important to be taken seriously.”

So today’s note isn’t heavy or deep or packed with big insights. It’s a gentle reminder of the little things the surprisingly sacred, often-overlooked moments that make life actually feel like life.


These are my non-negotiables.

🧡 The soul snacks.

🧡 The secret sauces.

🧡 The things I take very seriously… in the most joy-filled way possible.



Here’s What I Take Seriously (In the Most Unserious Way):

🫖 A proper cup of tea (from a pot!) and a good natter = pure joy Let’s be real, this can be deeply nourishing—tea is like therapy!


😴 Naps. No defence needed. They are the secret sauce of life.


🥱 Yawns. Sacred. Delicious. If you yawn in my face mid-session? I thank you. That’s a simply exquisite nervous system signal that you’re with me and beginning to reset from stress to ease. YES to yawns!


😂 Belly laughs that make your ribs hurt = sacred medicine. This is not only a nervous system workout yeah, I won’t bore you with the science, you know it feels good. When was the last time you truly belly-laughed?


🤣 Laughter is therapy. Use liberally. No side effects. This is SO important, I’m saying it TWICE, just in case you got caught in “Serious Sally” vibes. 👉 Repeat after me: Life is too important to be taken seriously.


🤗 Hugs. Real ones. None of this “tap-tap” awkwardness here please. I’m talking full heart-to-heart hug. It’s not just delicious and divine it literally floods your system with oxytocin, dials down stress hormones, and reminds your body you’re safe. It’s basically a biohack in hug form.


🌿 Walks. In rain. Sun. Under stars. Nature always knows what to do. Remember, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Go on, get out there. Embrace the wind, the sun, the cleansing rain. Magic awaits I promise.


🌼 Stillness isn’t “doing nothing.” It’s where clarity begins. It took me a long time to really embody this. At first, I fell down the “doing nothing” spiral, pushing it down the list of to-do’s. I felt like a failure. But now? I make time every day for stillness. That’s where the magic happens.


💃 Dancing in your kitchen like a wild person—on purpose. Heart pounding. Body buzzing. Laughter likely. Start with one song. Build a playlist. Dance while the kettle boils. Or at 2:30pm. I never said this had to be a morning thing, it is an anytime thing! You’ve got full permission to find your own vibe, because, well see the next item…


There’s no perfect. Only presence. And that’s more than enough. So maybe you skip a day. Maybe your Running Man feels off. Maybe you don’t fancy a tea.


That is OK too, there’s no “right.” There is just you. Showing up for you. And that is NEVER wrong.


So if you need permission to pause the pursuit today and just be here…Consider this your nudge.
